Welcome to Frøya and Hitra. These islands now offer a direct road connection to the mainland and are beautifully situated off the coast of Trøndelag, only a two-hour drive south-west of Trondheim. Frøya and Hitra are known as one of the best destinations in the world for deep sea fishing. But we have much more to offer our guests as well. We have a wide range of activities and adventures in store for you. To mention a few: a beautiful archipelago featuring thousands of islands and islets, hundreds of fishing lakes, sparsely populated islands (for ex. with only 4-6 permanent residents), a thriving bird life, Northern Europe’s most densely populated red deer herd, picturesque fishing villages, crystal-clear scuba diving conditions, scenic bicycle and rambling routes, eagle and seal safari, plenty of festivals, a national coastal museum, local culinary delicacies, whale-watching, an historical park, a landscape preservation area (Froan) and not least of all comfortable and unique overnight accommodation facilities. This region offers adventures suitable for the entire family, individual travellers and groups as well. Come for a short stay or use the area as a base to explore the region. We recommend that you combine a stay with round-trip excursions in the Trøndelag district. Contact post@trondelagskysten for help in planning your visit. |
